Singer-songwriter Jordan Musycsyn joining Tis The Season cast

Up-and-coming Cape Breton singer-songwriter Jordan Musycsyn will be in Pictou on Dec. 5 as part of the cast of Tis The Season 9.

The young country-folk artist was featured in this year’s Cape Breton Summertime Revue at the Savoy theatre.

Antigonish-native and well-known stage and theatre actor Mary-Colin Chisholm is the special guest on this year’s tour, written by and starring Bette MacDonald and Maynard Morrison. Chisholm is an actor, writer, director who has worked extensively for Neptune Theatre, Mulgrave Road Theatre and her own companies LunaSea and Frankie.

This past summer, she played a detective nun in Habit of Murder for Ships Company Theatre.  She has also had leading roles in TV on Black Harbour, Pit Pony, Made in Canada and Haven.  Chisholm, who is a seasoned comedy performer, has worked previously with MacDonald and Morrison in the Cape Breton Summertime Revue.

Also joining this year’s cast is guitarist Joe Waye Jr., a prominent jazz guitarist from Sydney.

According to a press release, this year’s show will “celebrate everything that is wonderful, joyful, aggravating and horrifying about the season that draws family and friends together, whether you want them there or not!”

Tis The Season 9 comes to Pictou on Dec. 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the deCoste Centre.
